Re: Bose Connect APP for Mac Computers

I'm a huge Bose supporter, but I am going to be "real" here......the fact that this can't connect to a Mac is unacceptable and frankly, should be a priority with your company.  Those of us who are loyal to Bose have spend thousands of dollars for your products and expect them to be cutting edge and conversely, are extremely frustrated when you lag behind the competition.  Maybe I should have considered Beats instead.  I wonder if their community has any issues linking via Bluetooth to their Macs?  Hmm.....  Get on this Bose or maybe you'll more than just a few customers.  Unacceptable.

Re: Bose Connect APP for Mac Computers

Hi all,

I and my girlfriend bought a QC35 II headphones and the first thing what I wondered was to connect both to my Macbook Pro (late 13). And it was very easy without using any 3rd party app.

It can be done by Utilities -> Audio Midi Setup and there create aggregate device. Both headphones get the same audio output from my Macbook Pro. It took me a while to setup it properly, same channels to both sides, but finally it works perfectly.

Anyway looking forward to add the Share Music feature to not be limited only on Macbook devices 🙂

Re: Bose Connect APP for Mac Computers

Totally agree, I purchased my Bose Quietcomfort 35 II today at BestBuy preparing for an overseas flight. Really, really thinking about retunring them tomorrow and going with the Sony noise cancellation headphones. I did not find out until toninght in hotel room that the Bose Connect App was not available for MacBook Pro, drove myself crazy trying to find the App to download.......highly, highly disappointed. The Bose Connect App is available for my iPhone but not for MacBook Pro, makse no sense whats so ever !!

Re: Bose Connect APP for Mac Computers

Yes, I would also like to see a Bose Connect app for Mac OSx, hopefully soon. I have two Bose Soundlink Revolve +s and I love that I can connect them together into party mode or stereo mode through my phone. However, it would be a lot better if I could do the same with my mac laptop for when I play music through there.

Re: Bose Connect APP for Mac Computers

Hi Emily,

That's a great question. Are you aware that you can pair the Revolve speakers together for Party/Stereo mode manually without having to use the Bose connect app?  To pair your 2 revolves manually.

  1. Turn both speakers on.
  2. Make sure at least one speaker is paired with your mobile device.
  3. On the speaker connected to your device, press and hold the Bluetooth and Volume + buttons simultaneously.
  4. Release the buttons when you hear “Press the Bluetooth and volume down buttons simultaneously on a second Bose device.”
  5. On the second speaker, press and hold the Bluetooth and Volume – buttons simultaneously.
  6. Release the buttons when the speaker emits a tone. After 10 seconds, you will hear “Party mode” from both speakers simultaneously. Party mode is enabled. You are now able to play audio in unison using your device.
  7. Once you are in Party Mode, press the Bluetooth and Volume + buttons simultaneously on the second speaker.
  8. Release the buttons when you hear “Stereo mode.” You will immediately hear “Left” from the left speaker and “Right” from the right speaker. Stereo mode is enabled. You are now able to play audio in stereo using your mobile device.

Hope that helped

Tony

Re: Bose Connect APP for Mac Computers

Sorry, yes I was aware of that. I probably should’ve put that in my original post. But it would be much simpler to do it through a Bose Connect app on the Mac itself. Also a feature that I also like of the app on my iPhone is that when I connect to the speaker through the app it automatically turns that speaker on, without having to physically press the power button. It would also be cool if it could do the same with the second speaker it connects to for party mode/stereo mode. Thanks.

Re: Bose Connect APP for Mac Computers

I would also like to see a Bose app for Mac mainly to facilitate firmware updates.      Download of firmware seems to be very slow on iPhone.   With a Mac app, can queue up any updates using download on Internet and then applying to headphones at a later time.

Re: Bose Connect APP for Mac Computers

OK - I just discovered I can update firmware using the Bose Updater Application for Mac and my Browser.   Wow - I waited over an hour for my phone to notify me that the firmware was ready to download.   Opened Bose connect to see it looking for updates!!! What - then I discovered Bose Updater.    Installed the application.  Opened the brower window and connected the phones via USB.   In 5 minutes or less firware was downloaded and updated.  Nice.

I will always update via the USB wire and computer now.
