Mods, why are you deleting any and all mentions of older firmware?
I understand that these are Bose forums, but you're seriously making Bose look very suspicious by doing so, regardless of why you do it.
Does this have something to do with old firmware having intellectual property issues, while version 4.5.2 doesn't?

Cause they don't you to downgrade the firmware. It may be uncompatible now.
Anyway I'm trying to run down the battery to try this soft reset. The headphones themselves don't seem to have a hard reset like other electronics where you can force reboot.

I seem to be facing this issue as well. There is practically no difference between the high and low cancellation levels. I regret the day I got exited over the firmware update. I neever realised Bose would do something like this and not respond in an offical capacity.
I just ordered a pair of QC35 II, but after reading this I'm a bit worried. Is there anyway I can check what firmware it is running without using the app? Should I return them?
You will have time to see what firmware its useing, install app, connect device, see what firmware it is in settings then force stop the app, delete app, and you dont need the app anymore.
Before deleting app, change the button to toggle anc and not google.
No they dont use newest firmware, its 4.1.3.
And no you cannot see it on the package.
If u dont want to install the app you can go to www.btu.bose.com
Connect ur headphones to your pc
