Thanks for the great explanation. I just bought my QC 35-2 and found this thread before my headset arrived. My unit came with version 4.3.6 and produced on June 6th 2019. I didn't update the firmware on my unit and I will not be doing it.

I tested this morning on the sidewalk and I could hear if the car goes by and some other high frequency noises. I hope that is acceptable and they don't cancel out everything. Is my understanding correct since I never owned any NC headphones before.

You're welcome! Sure, they can't cut off all the noise. You'll still hear some sounds, it's perfectly normal. Their volume will still be lower than it actually is. Just a way to verify the effectiveness of ANC - is a couple of minutes to stand with HIGH-mode, for example, near autobahn, and then abruptly remove the headphones.

For me, the Bose connect app showed version 4.3.6, but when I connected the headphones to the Mac, it said version 4.1.3

Nothing strange, many here when you connect headphones to a PC in Bose Updater displayed version 2.x.x

I think this is due to the fact that Bose updater displayed a version that was pre-installed after the headset was produced as the current one. But mobile application indicates the version that is actually installed

There was 4.3.6 when I bought them. After update to 4.5.2 I faced the same problem with ANC. 4 days ago I've downgrade it to 3.8.1. ANC became better in my opinion.

How? I didn't think it was possible to revert back after an update from everything I have read. Thanks

Yes, you can ‘upgrade’ to 3.1.8, we’re not allowed to tell how.

You’ll have to google it, and perhaps read this thread after page 90 to help you how.

my ANC too. You got to get your **bleep** together, Bose. I hope you will get flooded with complaints and fix this issue and make it better than ever. I will contact support also, just to make my contribution! Until then, you suck!
