Hi, my (wired) Quiet Comfort headphones make a clicking noise when plugged into my iPhone. I’ve put in a new battery and swapped in a new 3.5mm to lightning adapter. Neither has worked. Also, the clicking continues even if just plugged into the iPhone Xr. No music or volume from the phone, just plugged in and the noise canceling headphones turned on produces the metronome-ish clicking. What to do?
Welcome to the Bose Community. Thanks for posting.
I'm sorry to hear you are having issues with your QC headphones clicking when connected to your iPhone.
To troubleshoot the issue, can you please confirm if you have tried the following?
- Test the headphones with a source with a built-in headphone input that does not require an adapter.
- Power on the headphones with the cable detached from the earcup. Does the clicking persist?
- Try removing and re-adding the ear cushions.
Please let me know how you get on.

Hi Jeff, I have the same issue with my QC25.
There is no "S" on the remote.
And I have rebooted my iphone many times.
The clicking is also there when the phone is on flight mode.
When the phones are connected to the mac book, no clicking.
This problem was from the beginning, like 3 years back.
I asked for help in a Bose store. But no one could help.
So I thought I have to live with it.
Now I see others have managed to solve it.
Gives me hope.
So what to do, which cables do I need exactly to connect to an iphone 7.
Please send a link where to order if possible.
I am in Indonesia / Bali.

I'm sorry to hear you are also having issues with your QC25 headphones.
You mentioned the issue is not present when testing with the MacBook. Have you tried testing the headphones with any other devices and does the issue persist on those products?
If the issue only occurs with the iPhone, I would recommend testing a different lightning to 3.5mm adapter to see if this helps resolve the issue.
Let me know how you get on.
Thank you Jeff for your answer.
I have tried it on an Iphone 6 plus and on an iphone 7. Both times it clicks.
Iphone 6 plus does not use lightning adapter.
Do you think I need to buy new cable for the headpohones? Especially for iphone use? There are some where you don't need the lightning adapter.
it's just a pitty, because I have hardly used the headphones. But I'm happy if there is a solution.
I would appreciate an exacty product name/link in case I should replace the cable.
