If you have your QuietComfort 35 II Headphones connected to your iPhone 7 via Bluetooth or via AUX if you play the podcast or audio book through your device this should be played through your headphones.

Can you please explain how you are using the headphones to stream this audio from the device? The audio from these applications should play as long as the device is connected to the headphones.
When you attempt to stream these applications do you get no audio at all? If not please ensure that the volume is correctly adjusted inside the app and on the device. I would also like to know if you are able to get any audio from the headphones at all?

I would recommend that you check your microphone and sound settings on Duolingo and make sure your sound effects, speaker, and microphone are "on." I would recommend that you reach out to Duolingo regarding this matter further to ensure all of your settings are correctly placed for the use of external Bluetooth devices.
