How to connect Bose Soundlink AE2 / AEII to Bose Connect App on older Android versions (Nov 2020)

I have an OnePlus Two with Android version 6.0.1 (Marshmallow). When I downloaded the Bose Connect App from Google App Store, It automatically downloaded version 6.2.2 (although the latest version was 13.0.2).
My OnePlus Two could pair to my AE2 via Bluetooth, but not inside the Bose Connect App.
I have spent countless days searching on Bose forum and other forums, but none of the suggestions worked for me.
This is what I did that finally worked:
  a) go to (https://android-apk.org/) and search for "Bose Connect APK".
  b) click on a result, for example on : "Bose Connect 6.2.2 APK".
  c) scroll down to the very bottom, there you can see many previous older versions of the Bose Connect App.
  d) open one by one, carefully read the descriptions, and search for the latest version of the Bose Connect App that is COMPATIBLE with your Android version. In my case, the version 9.0.1 finally worked for me.
  e) click on download button and install the APK into your phone (from the Chrome Browser),

      see (https://helpdeskgeek.com/how-to/how-to-install-android-apps-using-the-apk-file/).
  f) open the Bose Connect App on your phone and simply follow the instructions to set it up.
Summary:
Bose Soundlink AE2 firmware version 3.0.3
OnePlus Two with Android version 6.0.1 (Marshmallow)
Bose Connect App version 9.0.1(67)
