Have you solved how to disable voice assistant ? It´s just incredible annoying. Too touch the voice assistant button when you are in a hurry is a typical cenario. Have to buy the Sony or Jabra if this is still not possible. Should be a really easy software fix for a major company...

Well I have "solved" it by using a workaround: I have assigned the button to Alexa, which I haven't setup. Now I just get the annoying message "configure the assistant in the Alexa app " message. less awkward than calling random people though
By the way my headset is on sale. Going for the jabra 85H instead. The headset is not as sexy as the NC700 but the sound quality is amazing, noise cancelation amazing and the company more serious... At least they are listening to their customers
I also have this problem of it randomly calling people. Please allow us to disable this terrible voice control if we chose
This does not help. We need to shut off the voice control we stop randomly calling people. We have important jobs. And important people on our phoneS. And randomly calling them hurts our reputation. Allow us to shut this off!!!!

I wanted to buy and use the 700 model for professional purposes because it has a microphones array allowing stronger surrounding noise cancellation than others on the market in the PHONE CALL MODE.
Unfortunately, but I hope I'm wrong, I understood from the forum that there is STILL no possibility to totally disable the Virtual Assistant functionnality (activation through an accidental swipe on the headphone) and that when no Assistant is configured there is still a few seconds cut in the call as the headphones are "asking" to configure one?
Thank you in advance for your reply

I’m having the same issue, and since I’m using this headphone for professional purposes, it’s starting to get really annoying/embarrassing?
are you working on a permanent solution for this?
looking forward to hear from you.

I have exactly the same problem.
I would like to disable the voice dial, but it is currently not possible.
Next time I am buying a similar product, this will be one of the main criterias that I ll take into consideration.
Note that the voice assistance chose to call my ex-girl friend after after recording ambient sound in the airport.. Some times its other random people I didn't speak to for years.
How broken is this user experience ?

I totally agree on people's opinion here. Product in this price class shall have possibility to turn features off. It ALWAYS goes wrong when someone is trying to know what users want. Result is these kind of feedback thread people complaining about the product.
Personally I bought my pair of 700 headphones as present and immediately faced "voice assistant nightmare", while listening to angry user first experience feedback. In this case, there were no other options to select than Siri, so nothing to choose from. For some strange reason my older Apple 8 had the option for Alexa, though I've never downloaded it. Problem was solved in my case, but not with the intended original user.
Previous experience has shown Bose has high quality products. Expensive, but well working.
In this case I wonder how come Bose 700 headphones have been tested with test user group and this issue has not been fixed?

Got to this thread as well after randomly calling tons of people. This is actually the single worst problem I've ever faced with headphones. You do it once no big deal - but it happens constantly by just randomly dropping the headphones or having your cat press the buton.
300+$ for a product and I can't turn off the functionality? How difficult can it be to hotfix this issue?!?

I too would like the feature to disable or remap this button. For my next headphone purchase I will consider if this functionality is offered.
