Loud screaming noise followed by lost bluetooth connection

Hi, I bought a pair of Bose sound counselling wireless headphones a year ago (September 2019) and in the past week I have had a problem with them giving out a very loud screaming noise in both ears, shortly followed by the bluetooth connection failing. Please can you explain why this is happening and what I should do to fix this issue?
