Unfortunately, 1.5.1 does not address the lower battery life or stuttering issues. 👎

Re: Noise Cancelling 700 Firmware Update - Reduced Battery Life Announcement

I have just rang customer service and told them even after the update I get 16 hours but they say the battery will work for 20 hours but they need to work on the announcement. It’s. Bloody joke you pay £320 for a product that doesn’t work properly 😱

Re: Noise Cancelling 700 Firmware Update - Reduced Battery Life Announcement

They are insolent 😠

Moreover, that is not true, I have 17 hrs after full charge and battery working 17 bloody hrs. Of course it depends on several factors like the loudness level or the NC level, for sure it's no more than 17 hrs.

Re: Noise Cancelling 700 Firmware Update - Reduced Battery Life Announcement

Seriously?!!!

Just unbelievable. After all these months of waiting and this is what we get?

Firmware update happened:

Date of manufacture 9 Nov 2019

1.4.12-6283+9f658fd
TO
1.5.1-9303+d287f23

Took me 12 min to get it on a 1 gbps connection.

Not sure about the battery charging, going to test it as I write this...

But the stuttering, or distortion of youtube, songs etc are still there - horrible.

And actually it got worse. I had the distortion once in a while, now it is continuous 24/7.

Can't even use the headphone. Just great!.

Thanks, Bose for taking my money away for nothing.

Users - update risk is there. It is worthless. Its going to mess up even more.

Re: Noise Cancelling 700 Firmware Update - Reduced Battery Life Announcement

@madbooba

Well, tested it for several hours of charging. Didn't go past 17 hrs.

Stuttering, distortion etc rendering the music/voice unbearable to listen.

Can't even have a decent video conference. I am not sure whether it was distorting at the other end. Felt embarrassed to ask others.

Really this is a huge failure. As I still guess with my limited knowledge, there is serious mechanical defect that cannot be fixed by firmware. And it is nearly impossible to recall all the units and fix it.

People still on the edge, better to return the unit.

I don't see the end of the tunnel anytime soon.

Bose Noise Cancelling 700 - Reduced Battery [Life Announcement]

First of all I'm not sure if this is fact or not but it seem very coincidental that there was a firmware release that did not address the two major issues in all posts and then the topic was locked for comment.  The redirection to a new thread that obscures the issue and makes it very difficult, if not impossible to find, is suspicious at best.  Here the link to the community admin's post.

https://community.bose.com/t5/Around-On-Ear-Headphones/Bose-NC-700-Red-White-blinking-LED-UPDATE-7-3...  redirecting all to a new subject "Re: Bose NC 700 Red/White blinking LED". How is anybody that is experiencing the issue going to find it.

A few questions and comments.

  1. Are you still actively working on the issue?
  2. Where will updates on progress be posted?
  3. irrespective of the the Bose position that it's only an announcement issue when the upgraded the firmware was upgraded I'm still experiencing battery life issues.
  4. This is real poor customer support/service, if my suspicions are correct, hiding the issue in an unrelated post  ... well what can I say.  I can only hope that you all find yourselves on the other end of this frustration and you're treated that same way
