Before creating a new topic, please search the Community to avoid creating duplicate threads. If you are posting about a problem, the more of the below details you can include (if applicable) the easier it will be for others to try and help. Go to for a helpful post on how to find relevant information, including your firmware and app version information!

Bose product name Bose 700

Country UK

Firmware Version

App Version Android

What devices were you using that were affected and what version are they on (e.g. Samsung Galaxy S9 on Android 11, iPhone X on iOS14, etc.)

Detailed description of the issue and steps to reproduce

Do Bose 700 cancel noise? It seems that on setting 10 it just slightly lowers it down. My earmuffs for £4 (20db) do the same job...

What environment do you experience the issue in? (e.g. noisy office, quiet kitchen, etc.)

When did you start to experience the issue? Straight away. Did it work correctly previously? No

Any troubleshooting steps you took

Re: Noise cancellation

Hi there Aureala,

Thank you for reaching out to us and welcome to the Bose Community!

When you refer to the Bose 700, do you mean the Noise Canceling Headphones 700

If so, the Nose Canceling Headphones 700 offer sound control that’s available only from Bose, including 11 settings that range from full noise canceling (which helps isolate you from your surroundings) to full transparency (which helps let your surroundings in, as if you weren’t wearing headphones at all). Plus, one-click triggers Conversation Mode, which simultaneously switches your headphones to full transparency and pauses your music, for a momentary break from private listening.

If you feel that you are not able to achieve this, there may be an issue with your headphones. A great first step would be to make sure you are running the most recent firmware. You can find instructions for carrying this out HERE

Let me know how it goes!
