Phone calls are not passing through-iOS 14.6

Detailed description of the issue and steps to reproduce
I am able to connect to the headphone and listen to music from my phone. The headphone also connects to my work laptop and has no problem listening in or using the mic to speak. However, when i try to use the phone to make calls, i cannot hear anything the other person is saying nor the person can hear me speaking. This is also true for received calls. I can hear the alert tone indicating the call has connected but no voice.
What environment do you experience the issue in?
When did you start to experience the issue? Did it work correctly previously?
The device was working well and was being used regularly. The problem started last week ( 07/06/2021)
Any troubleshooting steps you took
I have followed the rest procedure described by Bose. unpaired the device from phone and repaired it. Rebooted the phone, still the problem persists.
