I am running Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB 2016
Version 1607 build 14393.3595
I have the original quietcomfort 35 headphones. They were working fine up until today.
Now, whenever I use the microphone in windows, it's like the gain is cranked to the max. Any sound pegs the levels and it's just a blast of static. Have verified in multiple applications.
It's not the headphones, as the mic works fine on my mobile device.
I have removed and reinstalled ALL of my audio drivers and bluetooth drivers more than once. Have also reset the firmware on the headphones to version to 2.5.5
I suspect that having access to the windows control setting "microphone boost" might be able to remedy the issue, but I don't have access to it under this hardware.
Not sure where to go from here with my $500 headphones.
Thank you for your post and welcome!
I'm sorry to hear of the issues you seem to be experiencing with the microphone on your QC35's.
As you have already mentioned, the headphones seem to be functioning correctly with other devices. The only thing I can suggest is making sure your computer is up to date with the latest update. Then making sure you have the headset selected as your microphone in your sound settings.
If this is unsuccessful, I would recommend getting in contact with the manufacturer of the computer to see if they can assist you. If there is anything else we can do, please reach out again!
Thanks for your reply.
Yes, the headset is selected and the OS is up to date.
I am the manufacturer of the computer, and in that capacity I am seeking assistance from the vendor of the headphones, as other headsets work fine. It's just the Bose ones giving me issues. So I'd like tech support if possible.
Can you advise as to next steps please? Like many people I've been confined to remote work, and having a working headset is essential for meetings. I chose to purchase the QC headset because of the high quality and support associated with it. It would be great if I could get some support.

Any updates on your issue? I am having the issue of my QC 35 II not connecting properly to my PC - headphone work, but not the mic.
PS: That Bose support you are getting is frankly sh*t...
I haven't heard a whisper since the initial response two weeks ago.
It sounds like your problem isn't like mine.
Yes this is pretty poor support. At least I now know which brand of headphones to never buy again.
@Jessie_OI can see you replying to other posts. Is there some reason I can't get help here? How do I get customer support? It's been several weeks.
