Bose A20 mic /adapter issue

I bought this A20 set onEbay (yeah I know). Has a weird adapter on it. Headset works but mic will not in a Cessna or cirrus. Friend said it looks like a helicopter setup... thoughts on whether and how I can get this to work in a plane?

I can't tell which connecter it is, but there are four different ones.  It looks like you need the "general aviation" 2-pin as that's the adapter you have on there.  There is also a 6-pin, 5-pin and U174 (helicopters).

Most likely it's an issue with the adapter, but without trying another one I can't confirm.

You can try a new adapter or you can replace the whole cable assembly (unscrews where it connects to the headset) and purchase the correct one.

Re: Bose A20 mic /adapter issue

Hi Monty 1174,

This is a nice Headset for info. The Plug is a Fischer model made especially for Leonardo A109S Model Helicopters, amongst some others. It is an Electret Mic Version and is powered from the Helicopter Fischer Socket Installation at 12/24VDC. It has Bluetooth.

As per Morlock's suggestion, you can purchase a new Mic and Downlead Assy to suit your Aircraft and leave this one intact as it is an expensive Mic assy. Just two Screws at the Headset to Mic Body and gently pull apart.

I am not sure if you can PM on this site, but if so, am happy to buy it off you if required as I use a lot of them?

All the best,

Larry
