Bose QC 35II - intermittent (every ~15mins) stutter with Pixel (help?)

Only had these Bose for a few days, and have an odd problem that I assume isn't normal, or it would be mentioned in reviews and stuff. It pairs with my Pixel phone just fine, plays continuously, stutters a bit if I wander too far away, but is basically fine.

However, roughly every 15-16 minutes, when I'm sitting at my desk about 30cm from my phone, the music cuts out for a split second. It immediately continues as if there's been no issue. It's so consistent that I started running splits, testing how often it happened. The first one I didn't start immediately after listening, and I may have missed a couple as I was concentrating at work. But there's a definite pattern.

I've tried turning off the standby timer (setting it to never), and turning off the voice prompts. I've tried it with or without the connect app running (I haven't tried uninstalling it, and just relying on the phone, though.). The music app I'm using is just the default Play Music one. My phone was on silent, so no alerts came through. I was at my desk, and didn't move away from my phone.

Has anyone heard of this issue? Does anyone have any suggestions? These are my first wireless headphones and I really like the wireless aspect, but if they can't provide consistent music, it's kinda pointless - I'll swap them for the 25s.

Um. Please help?

(In case anyone wonders, the splits. Bearing in mind I was multitasking at work, and didn't always react swiftly, and occasionally may not have noticed/remembered.)

Can you turn off wifi on your phone and stream music stored on your phone to the headphones without it skipping? I wonder if the phone is doing something wifi/bluetooth radio transmitter related activity thats interrupting the bluetooth output.

Sadly my WiFi was off. I was running music from the phone, not data. I can try with the phone in plane mode. I'll report back!
... of course I can't use bluetooth in plane mode. Hm. Next plan. I've turned off mobile data and location. :-S

you may be able to re-enable bluetooth even after turning airplane mode on.

Re: Bose QC 35II - intermittent (every ~15mins) stutter with Pixel (help?)

Right - finally I'm back. Tested this in a couple of places and ways.

Wondered if it might be all the signals in London messing with it - but up in the much quieter Alps it still does this. Also, my colleague has the older version Bose 35 QCs, and an android phone - and he has zero problems in the office.

I also put the plane into airplane mode and then returned on bluetooth - and it still did the intermittent cut out.

Do these headphones not work with Pixel, or should I return them and see if another pair will work better?
