How can I change the name that Bose QC associates with my Macbook?

My Macbook's computer name is "Chris Mac". However, my Bose QC headphones identify my Mac as "BCM20703A1 Generic USB UHE Ap..." Each time my Bose QC connects or disconnects from my Mac, the voice prompt reads this long "BCM.." name, which takes a long time and disrupts my call/music.

Without turning off Voice Prompts, how can I change the name that Bose associates with my Mac?

Hi ultimate350,

Thanks for posting. The QC35 sounds like its acting normally. It's reading the ID of the USB Bluetooth dongle. You would have to find a way of changing it within the settings of the Mac.

Re: How can I change the name that Bose QC associates with my Macbook?

Thanks Tony. I figured out that if I change my computer name in my Mac's 'Sharing' settings, it overrides the name Bose Connect stores, thereby fixing the problem. However, it was your reply which prompted me to try this, so thanks!
