Missing 'Action Button' in Connect App.

Hi Guys.

I use the Bose® SoundLink™ AE2 Wireless Bluetooth Over-Ear Headphones with Built-In Microphone.

When I first set up the headphones I long pressed the button on the headphones that control start and stop of music and a prompt came up on my phone to choose Bixby or Google Assistant.

I chose Bixby but now would like to swap that to Google Assistant.

The issue I'm finding is that a Google search points to launching the Bose Connect App version 6.2.2 and then tap on the cog icon and look for an 'action's button.

Issue is there isn't one.

Thank you for your suggestion which I really appreciate.

The solution was to go into Settings, Apps, Bixby Voice and clear the defaults set up in there.

Then long pressing on the multi key on the headphones once again brought up a pop up asking if I wanted to choose Bixby or Google Chrome.

Once again thank you for engaging with me. 🙂

Re: Missing 'Action Button' in Connect App.

Hi BandOfBrothers!

Thank you for writing in. The "Action" button exists on the QC35 Series II headphones only. If you would like to change what your phone uses as the default voice assistant, this adjustment must be done on your phone.

Please let us know what phone you have, and we might be able to help you locate the setting.

Thank you again,

Hi,

That explains the lack of the button.   🙂

I'm using a Samsung Note 9.

Re: Missing 'Action Button' in Connect App.

Hi @bandofbrother, please try this:

  1. Open the Settings menu and select Advanced Features.
  2. You'll see an option called Device assistance app, select this.
  3. Tap on the box that says "device assistance app" and it opens with a range of options.

Hope that helps!
