Noise Canceling on QuietControl 30

I have done quite a bit of research on these buds and I am reading (amazon and other review sites) from reviewers who complain that the NC is not as effective on the QC30s as on the QC20s.   I also read a post from a Bose employee? on Amazon that said the QC20 and the QC30 have the same effective NC, except that on the QC 30s the NC is variable.   What's the real story here?  When set to maximum, is the NC just as effective on the QC30s as the QC20s?

See for yourself: http://www.rtings.com/headphones/graph#407/349/236 . QC20 is better until 120Hz and after that results are mixed.

Re: Noise Canceling on QuietControl 30

Interesting test.

I have both and have used both extensively. I really can not tell much difference other than 1) the QC 30 seem more sensitive to ear fit. 2) he 30 generally work as well as the 20's in my ears 3) seem better in restaurants with mid range noise like voices and background music.

I prefer the QC 30 but admittedly, my tests have been just a bit more subjective lol
