Noise Control Button Feels "Flat"

I just got a brand new pair of NC Headphones 700, and so far I love them! However, as I was playing around with them, I noticed that the Noise Control button (the only button on the left ear cup) feels a bit "flat". It's not entirely flush with the rest of the ear cup, however it is definitely noticeably less pronounced than both buttons on the right ear cup. Is this intentional, or is it a hardware defect? Has anybody else noticed the button on the left side being less pronounced? I find that it makes it harder to intuitively reach for the button when I want to adjust the ANC level; I feel like I have to actively search for it and slide my finger around to find it, which is kind of frustrating.
