QC35 and Game Console Compatibility
We've noticed recently that one of the most viewed/searched for posts involves compatibility of our headsets and the various gaming consoles available on the market. After doing some research here and on other places online, our moderators found that there is a lack of consistent information to be found. We know many of our community members are passionate about gaming and would love to use our products with their consoles.
Although we don't specifically engineer headsets for gaming purposes, we're also curious about what works and what doesn't. Our moderators reached out to friends, coworkers, and family members to help answer some of these questions. Note that three consoles are still under review, but we wanted to share the current status of our findings.
There are a few additional considerations that we'd like to mention:
- None of our headsets work wirelessly with any of the below consoles. Although the PS4 does support Bluetooth 3rd party headsets are not compatible.
- All testing was done with a QC35 (Series 1) headset and the Android version of the QC25's microphone cable. Note that the Apple variant of the cable is not considered compatible at all.
- This information is accurate at the time of this posting. Since software changes, hardware changes, or many other factors can change the behavior described below. For this reason, we cannot consider any of our headsets "officially" compatible with any gaming systems.
- There are settings in each of these consoles that may need to be adjusted. We've included links to the PS4 User's Guide and Xbox One Chat Headset troubleshooting pages for your convenience.
We hope this information is useful.
