QC35 ii – Google Assistant broken on Samsung Galaxy Note 8
I use a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 (Android 9) and recently bought the Bose QC35 ii. The action button was working fine while the phone was unlocked but after clearing the Google app cache (and the phone was locked) I started getting the dreaded "Open the google assistant on your phone then try that button again" message. Nothing was working and I read so many forums on Bose and Google support sites with no working solution. I was frustrated and desperate so I tried a solution buried in a Pixel 2 forum that said to change my action button inside of the Bose Connect app to noise canceling instead of Google assistant. After I made the change I then pressed and held on to the middle pause button in-between the volume buttons. Once I held the button down for a couple of seconds my google assistant box came up on my phone and the options for Finish Headphone setup came up for me. I went through the setup. It works fine now with the phone locked.
