Quietcomfort 35 iMac sound comes from computer despite connection

I've successfully connected to an iMac and previously used headphones with it. Suddenly sound continues to come only from the computers internal speaker despite the headphones being connected. My iMac indicates that the headphones are connected and the volume indicator has the headphones selected as output device. The headphones still work normally with my iPad and note 8

Re: Quietcomfort 35 iMac sound comes from computer despite connection

Hi Salmiakki

Thanks for posting. It sounds like the issue might be in the settings of your iMac.  I was curious, and I found this support article about setting up audio devices on an iMac

Set up audio devices on iMac

It covers setting up input and output devices with pictures.

Please come back and let us know if that was helpful

Re: Quietcomfort 35 iMac sound comes from computer despite connection

Hi Tony

Thank you for your reply, I'll check out the guide!

I did some more testing and found that my headphones connected to my iMac work fine when listening to music on spotify or watching tv on one website, watching YouTube... The problem seems to occur only when watching programs on the website of the Finnish broadcasting company.
I sent an inquiry to them about the media player they utilise on their webpage, I am completely mystified by this problem
