I don't think the fall has to do anything with it, im facing the same problems with my brand new sound sports Free.
When the charger is attached to a USB cable, it works fine, but it doesnt charge on battery. Also it doesnt show the indicator when pressing the open button.
Now i need to send in my headphones, what will result in 14 days no music :((
