Soundsport "Ready to Pair Another Device", but won't connect to Macbook

I searched these forums, and didn't find a matching topic. My best guess at this point is I'd need to update my OSX version?

 

My new SoundSport work great with my iPhone 7. The Bose app made it easy to update, so I think they've got the latest firmware.
However, I tried to Pair with my MacBook Pro (running OSX 10.12.6), and although the headphones show in the app, and continually tell me audibly that they're "Ready to Pair Another Device", and they appear for Pairing in the OSX Bluetooth Preferences pane, and even show "Connecting ..." next to a spinning gear, but it never completes.

I tried the headset reboot instructions I'd seen elsewhere in this site, and have turned Bluetooth off and on again in OSX.

If you've had a similar experience and resolved it, please share.

Hey bcdady,

 

Thanks so much for getting back to me.  So where you've done the reset and the SSW's are visible to your Mac and work with another device I'm thinking the issue is coming from your Mac.  Can you try resetting the Bluetooth module on your Mac?

Yes: SoundSport wireless/Bluetooth.

Yes, thanks for the follow-up. Deleting my bluetooth plist (and lock) files, and resetting SMC did the trick.

These headphones are great!
