Why have my headphones suddenly stopped working?

My Bose noise reduction headphones have suddenly stopped working with my Apple products?! The noise reduction light comes on. The battery is fresh. The volume controls seem to work. But no sound comes out of the headphones?!?!

Can anyone tell me why?

Firstly, I have a few questions that I would like to ask to get a better understanding of your issue: 

 

  • Which headphones do you have? 
  • Have you attempted to connect the headphones to a non-Apple device? 
  • Are you connecting via a wired or Bluetooth connection?

I dont know the make or model they were a gift but they are the surround the ear  Noise reduction headphones bought from John Lewis in the UK

Thanks for posting and updating me on this. A few more questions I would like to ask to better understand your which headphones you have: 

 

  • On the left ear cup do the headphones have a button on the back? 
  • How do you connect to your headphones? 
  • Are you seeing any LED's on the headphones? 

 

If possible please attach an image of your headphones.
