quiet comfort 35 II noise cancelling reduced after latest update 7.0.1?

My QC 35II headphones were great when I purchased mid-November.  They cancelled out outdoor traffic noise(airplanes/trucks/cars), washing machine, dishwasher inside my home while I listened to music or tv.  

About two weeks ago, I've started hearing the outdoor traffic noise randomly(airplanes, trucks).  I looked on the forum to see if there may be a solution and it looks like a softward update just happened. Could this be the cause?  Has anyone else experienced a decrease in noise cancellation within a relatively short time of owning these headphones?  Any suggestions?
