The music and volume volume can be controlled with Alexa. The World volume does not seem to respond to voice commands yet.
Try it while listening to music or on the cell phone. This is big! I just tried this on a fluke and it worked.
The Alexa app needs to be installed on your phone or Alexa enabled device and the Bose Hearphones will respond to that. So the Alexa isn't really on the Hearphones but we are getting closer.
Haven't tried anything else yet.

Many people do not realize that Echo devices (including the original 1st generation Echo) have the ability to operate as a bluetooth transmitter. This feature was intended primarily so that one could use (a) better speaker(s) for listening to music. In that mode, it's also possible to pair headphones (including Hearphones). While in this mode, the audio is played through the paired device, but Alexa still "listens" via her own built-in microphone array. To learn how to do this, see:
