Difference between Volume and World Volume and Noise Cancellation on IOS app

New user here and I'm trying to discover the difference between Volume and World Volume and Noise Cancellation.  On IOS app, I can only see how to change World Volume - I think I can do all of them on the Hearphone.

What are the differences?  Why would I use one and not the other?

Let's separate these:

Streaming Volume (sound streamed from your iOS device over Bluetooth)

Control Media Playback and Call Functions.jpg

  • Use the large volume buttons on your Bose Hearphones controller and the volume buttons on your iOS device.
  • The Bose Hear app does not control the streaming volume.

World Volume

Control World Volume and Directivity.jpg

  • Use the volume buttons on the side of the Bose Hearphones controller
  • The Bose Hear app can control the World Volume

Acoustic Noise Cancelling - Always on

  • When your Bose Hearphones are on, the Acoustic Noise Cancelling is always on. There is no adjustment on the Bose Hearphones controller or in the Bose Hear app.
  • You change the amount of environment sounds you hear by raising and lowering the World Volume.

Use the controls that are most convenient for you at the time.

Here's some more information about

Bose Acoustic Noise Cancelling™ technology and World Volume

and a link to the

Does that help?
