do not want bluetooth pairing option with hearphones

The hearphones keep asking to pair with the smartphone via the Bluetooth device.  We do not want to use the smartphone at all.  The verbal reminders are distracting and annoying.  How do we eliminate the pairing reminders or fully and permanently disable the Bluetooth function.  The hearing device will be used by a senior who does not have a smartphone and she will be confused by these constant reminders.

Thank you for joining the Bose Hear Community.  I understand you don't want to use the smartphone (and the Bose app). The Bluetooth connectivity and the features of the Bose Hear app allow you to do things you cannot do from the headset alone.  That includes some steps you can take to avoid messages like "Waiting to connect."

 

Here are a few steps you can try using your phone or device with the Bose Connect app. Once you are finished these steps, your senior should be able to use the Bose Hearphones without using the smartphone and the app.

  1. Connect Hearphones to the Bose Connect app on your phone or device.
  2. Tap the menu ☰
  3. Tap Settings
  4. Turn off Voice Prompts
    When she turns on Hearphones she will hear a few beeps to tell her the power is on, but there will be no voice prompts after that. She may hear a beep when the battery level is low, and a few minutes later, she will hear the power down beeps when it shuts off.
  5. Set the Auto Timer to Earbuds Removed, 5 Minutes
    Hearphones will remain on unless she
    - Turns them off manually
    - Takes the earbuds out and leaves them out for more than 5 minutes (you can adjust the value) but that seems reasonable.
