Not sure if this is an Apple or Bose issue (maybe both)
Recently purchased an iPad Pro (2018 model) along with the USB-C 3.5 headjack adapter. However, when plugging to Bose Companion 2 Series III speakers, I get a clicking sound every two seconds rather than sound from the iPad. The adapter does work with wired headphones, but no luck with Bose speakers.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Hi Manny805
Thanks for writing in!
It appears that the USB C to 3.5mm adapter may not be compatible with the Companion 2 III system. The adapter utilizes an extra pin which allows for communication with headsets. Since the speakers just play back stereo audio, this particular issue may occur.
If you connect that same audio cable to a mobile device or computer directly to the headphone jack, does this problem still happen?
Let us know how it goes!

Hi Tony-
Sorry forgetting back to you late.
I assume you're referrring to Bose Companion 2 Series III cable? if so, yes, I have plugged Bose Companion 2 Series III to devices with headphone jack and the Bose speakers work great.
Thanks,
Manny
Hello Manny,
It sounds like the adapter is not compatible with the Companion 2 Series III speakers. You might consider using a Bluetooth speaker or a SoundTouch Wireless Link adapter connected to your Companion speakers for audio.

Hi Greg-
Have you heard of any USB-C 3.5 adapter(s) that will work with the Companion 2 Series III speakers? Or, not sure if you would know, could Apple fix with a software update?
Thanks,
Manny
