Bose Solo 5 pairing with a set of Bose wireless speakers

Dear All:

I own a Bose Solo 5 and I am interested in purchasing Bose wireless speakers and pairing both. Is this possible with the Bose Solo 5? If yes, which Bose wireless speakers (include low cost as well). And, the set up instructions. I am using a Samsung QLED TV.

Thank you in advance for your in depth advice.

Bose product name

Country

Firmware Version

(1.0.7, 4.8.1, 1.7.0, etc.)

App Version

(4.1.1, 13.0.2, etc.)

What devices were you using that were affected and what version are they on

(Samsung Galaxy S9 on Android 11, iPhone X on iOS14, etc.)

Detailed description of the issue and steps to reproduce

What environment do you experience the issue in?

(noisy office, quiet kitchen, etc.)

When did you start to experience the issue? Did it work correctly previously?

Any troubleshooting steps you took

Re: Bose Solo 5 pairing with a set of Bose wireless speakers

Not really.  The Solo series is about simplicity.  So it's main use is TV audio.  It does have BT for audio playback, but that is BT input not output.

So if you were wanting to play the TV sound over other speakers, you would need to replace the Solo with a Soundbar 300/500/700.  Even then it depends what you want.  If you are after surround sound you need the Surround speakers.  If you want music over multiple rooms you get a Home Speaker 300/500 and connect over Wifi.

You could potentially start with a Home Speaker (as the master) for music and add on the Solo by BT, but you are limited by range, so multiroom may not work.
