Bose TV Speaker & Bose App

0976AF30-20AF-4A96-BAF4-226F6F1527ED.jpeg

I recently purchased the Bose TV Speaker and have been enjoying the product as a sound bar. This replaced my old speaker+receiver system so I also use this as a music speaker.

I was excited when I bought this that I could add additional speakers around the house but it doesn’t seem to be recognized by the Bose apps. Will the TV Speaker be compatible with the app so I can play music through this and other speakers simultaneously? I attached a screenshot from the product FAQ that seems to imply this should be possible.

Re: Bose TV Speaker & Bose App

What that FAQ that you show is saying, is that is will work as the slave unit.  So if you have a Smart Speaker system (300/500/portable), that has full compatibility with the app, then that can be the master.  The  TV speaker (because it is not compatible with the app) can then be linked by BT.  So the master accesses the source and can multi-room to other Smart Speakers and "simplesync" to one speaker such as the TV speaker.

So it's not really part of the group, but can be added to the group.
