Cinemate 15 and Apple iPhone or iPad Connection

Dear All, I need to help to use Bose Cinemate 15 along with iPhone or iPad. I am now connected to only TV via Optical cable and I dont want to switch on TV or depend on TV for all musics. I want to use my iPhone or iPad music library to play in Cinemate. Could you please suggest me the best connection method (analog or Coax) to use it with Cinemate 15. Also, suggest the cable types that I should buy for my iphone(7)/iPad Air2 to connect either with analog or Coax ? I am pretty new to Bose and to this community so kindly bear with me for my basic questions. Thanks a lot in advance. Regards, Naren

Sounds like you are looking for a wired connection.

I suggest a hybrid cable such as Apple connector to 3. 5mm (female adaptor).

Then add a 3.5mm to RCA(left and right) cable which your Cinemate will accept.

Not pretty but it should work.

Hi Naren,

I agree with NickUSMC, the best option would be to purchase an Apple TV.  You would only need to connect it via Optical or Analog RCA to your Cinemate 15, and you could control it from any iOS device like your iPhone or iPad.

If you have any further questions, please let me know!

Regards,

Brandon

Re: Cinemate 15 and Apple iPhone or iPad Connection

Apple TV only connects via HDMI. So he would have to connect the ATV to the television using HDMI then he is back to turning on the TV. Which isn't such a bad thing.

To keep the TV out of the loop however I suggest:

Airport Express via a wide choice of cables cables and inputs and using Airplay/iOS to play music through to the Cinemate 15.

For SoundTouch functionality how about the new SoundTouch Wireless Link adaptor?

So, please guide me on how to use Apple iPhone or iPad Connection with Cinemate 15. Please suggest me the best connection method (analog or Coax) to use it with Cinemate 15 along with the cable types that I should buy for my iphone(7)/iPad Air2 to connect either with analog or Coax ?

Thanks again and sorry to break the momentum about Apple TV. Hope you guys understand my situation and suggest pointers to use iPhone 🙂
