Lifestyle 650 distance OmniJewels speakers to wall conners

How far should the rear Omnijewel speakers be from a corner?

I am forced to place them in a indentation in the back wall of the room.  The indentaiton is 8" deep and 8' 6" wide.

Our current Lifestyle 28 Series II speakers sit about 12" in from the corners.

Thank you,

John

Re: Lifestyle 650 distance OmniJewels speakers to wall conners

Hi john,

Thank you for the post. We have an article HERE that explains a bit about optimal placement of the these speakers. Do you intend on mounting them on the wall or will they rest on a shelf? Will both rear speakers be in an indentation or just one of them? If this is the only place you can put them I will strongly recommend running ADAPTiQ so that the system can take measurements and adjust the EQ accordingly. Please let us know if you have any other questions!

Kind Regards

@Brent_B

That first link has nothing to do with omnijewel speaker placement.

It is for SoundTouch 10 and Amazon Echo Dot Setup.

i mounted my left rear onmi jewel about 6" from the corner wall. I believe you need some space as i only have 3" on my front left speaker. The AdaptiQ will tune in your speakers for a great sound stage.

Re: Lifestyle 650 distance OmniJewels speakers to wall conners

Hi GuyinPA75,

Thanks for catching that. We just migrated our support articles from SoundTouch.com over to bose.com/support and that link is definitely not redirecting properly. Here is the content from the article for those who are interested.

Placement suggestions:

Front speakers

  1. Place one speaker to the left and one speaker to the right of the TV
  2. Keep each speaker within 3 feet of the TV, if possible
  3. Keep speakers at least 3 feet apart
  4. Aim the speakers toward the listening area
  5. When placing the speakers in an enclosed bookcase shelf, position them at the front edge of the shelf

Center speaker

  1. Place the center speaker on a stable and level surface directly above or below the TV

Rear speakers

  1. The rear (surround) speakers should be located in the rear half of the room, preferably behind the listener
  2. Place the speakers at ear level or higher if possible

Console

  1. Place the console near the TV. Do NOT place the TV on top of the console
  2. Make sure there is an AC (mains) outlet nearby

Acoustimass module

  1. Stand the Acoustimass module on its rubber feet along the same wall as the TV, or along any other wall in the front third of the room
  2. Do not block the vent openings at the back of the Acoustimass module. This could cause the module to overheat
  3. The Acoustimass module can safely sit on its side, but do not stand it on the end with the port or on the end opposite the port
  4. The Acoustimass module is not magnetically shielded, and must be placed at least 18 to 24 inches from a TV monitor
  5. Choose a stable and level surface. Vibration can cause the Acoustimass module to move, particularly on smooth surfaces like marble, glass or highly polished wood
  6. Make sure there is an AC (mains) outlet nearby
Note: Only CRT style TVs are affected. This includes tube style TVs and rear projection with CRTs
