No TV audio when connecting my AV28 to Samsung Smart TV

I have an older model AV28 Media System connected to a Samsung model UM58MU6100 TV.  I have no problem with the DVD player, that works great. But I can't get the TV audio to play through the system. Any suggestions?

I'm sorry to hear you are not getting audio from your TV. How do you have this connected to your AV28? 

 

I would recommend double-checking that your TV sound settings are set to the system. 

 

Are you using a specific source you are not getting audio from?

I tried connecting the audio out from the cable box to the unit, No luck. What should I try next?

You have verified that you can hear the DVD playing through the system.

 

  1. Does the radio work?
  2. What about other devices, do they work once connected to your Lifestyle AV28?
  3. Have you tried different ports?
  4. Have you tried all three audio inputs RCA/Coax/Optical but only one at a time for a particular source?

Please let us know what you have tried and what worked and what did not work 🙂

The radio,CD, DVD, all work fine. I have tried all different variations of connections, but none work with the TV.

Ok, sure the TV, but what about other devices? We need to figure out if it's a problem with your TV, the cables being used, or the AV28 receiver.

 

  1. Does the radio work?
  2. What about other devices, do they work once connected to your Lifestyle AV28?
  3. Have you tried different ports?
  4. Have you tried all three audio inputs RCA/Coax/Optical but only one at a time for a particular source?

Please try all the steps I mentioned above to give us a better idea what's going on 🙂

I do not have any other devices connected.

 

I have tried every port on my TV without success

 

I have tried all 3 types of connections, nothing.

 

any ideas

Without a way of connecting something, anything to your receiver we do not know if the issue is your TV or the receiver. 

 

You don't have any DVD players in your garage? What about an audio device or a cell phone with a 3.5mm headphone jack or one that uses an adapter for a 3.5mm headphone jack? If you have an RCA to 3.5mm cable you could test it that way.

Please elaborate what you mean by this. Do you have a TV that has RCA, Digital Coax, & Digital Optical out? That seems rather unusual. 

 

Below is an image of some cables you might find with audio/video devices and the improvements they offer. Please check over this post.

You might want to contact your TV manufacture and find out if there is a setting that needs to be changed to enable audio out or to make sure that you have the cable on the TV / Receiver plugged into the correct place.

Thanks anyways, I found the solution on YTube.
