The Bose Community Forum was launched at a time when robust online support was not available for Bose customers. Over the past several years we have added new online service channels that provide a more interactive and complete digital experience. Additionally, we have enhanced the My Bose Account capabilities to deliver a more personalized and self-service experience. As a result, Bose has made the decision to close Community Forum for Consumer electronics products on September 30th. The Bose Pro portion of the Community will still operate as usual.

I have had the Solo TV Speaker for 4 years with no issues. Recently the remote stopped operating as it should, then stopped working all together. I have switched out the battery with no luck. Going thru the support/repair Bose estimated $100 for repair. Yikes.
My questions are:
Is it most likely the remote or the unit? I would hate to buy a new remote only to have it be the unit.
Can you even pair a new remote to the unit? Is it fairly easy to do?

I'm sure we can get this fixed. The steps you have tried so far is great! Can I please confirm a few things:
The great news is, your system can receive IR commands from other remotes. This is useful if you have a programmable remote that you want to program to control multiple devices in your home, including your Bose system. No setting changes are needed on your system to control it with a universal remote that sends IR (infrared) commands. The IR sensor on your system is located on the front. Be sure it is not blocked so it can detect remote commands.
Do you have an IR remote you could test to see if this will control the speaker? This will allow us to see where the issue lies?
I do not have a programmable remote to try, sadly.
