TV on screen display when adjusting volume

When I first set up my new Bose Lifestyle 550, adjusting the volume with the Bose remote showed as "Lifestyle" on my TV (a Samsung UE55H8000ST). Also the TV remote adjusted the Lifestyle volume. I must have changed a setting, because now nothing is displayed on screen as I adjust the volume, and the TV has reverted to adjusting the TV volume only. How do I get the on screen display back?

Re: TV on screen display when adjusting volume

Hi Simon S,

Thanks for writing in!  Sorry to hear about the troubles, but would be happy to help!

It sounds like there may be some sort of CEC issue happening at the moment.  In the console settings, let's make sure that CEC is enabled as well as checking that Any Net + is also enabled on the TV.

If this doesn't seem to help, let's try and power everything down and re-seat the HDMI cables at both ends to so if we can re-fresh the HDCP handshake between the soundbar and the TV.

Let us know how it goes!

Warm Regards,

Re: TV on screen display when adjusting volume

Thank you - I'd already resolved by disconnecting both from power, disconnecting HDMI cables, and then reconnecting everything
