The Bose Community Forum was launched at a time when robust online support was not available for Bose customers. Over the past several years we have added new online service channels that provide a more interactive and complete digital experience. Additionally, we have enhanced the My Bose Account capabilities to deliver a more personalized and self-service experience. As a result, Bose has made the decision to close Community Forum for Consumer electronics products on September 30th. The Bose Pro portion of the Community will still operate as usual.

Please visit our support homepage to experience one of our many other digital service channels or simply use your Community log-in credentials to sign in to your My Bose Account to view your orders and view support options.

Thank you to all who have contributed and benefited from interacting in our Community. We look forward to continuing to serve you online.

Use Apple TV Remote to Control LifeStyle 535

This is super frustrating. The 4K can pair with every remote I have except the one that comes with the $1500 system which is really dumb. When I leverage the pairing feature it tells me the down button is already in use. There is no way to go through the pairing process successfully. Is there a manual code I can use to pair it or a manual process?   This Apple TV remote literally pairs with everything. Why is this so difficult?

Re: Use Apple TV Remote to Control LifeStyle 535

Hi Willsoutwest,

Thanks for posting and joining the community!

Just to clarify with you, are you trying to program the Lifestyle remote to control your Apple TV, or the Apple TV remote to control the Lifestyle?

If you are trying to get the Lifestyle remote to control the Apple TV, there are two methods to do this from the control console.

  • Power on your system.
  • On the system console, press the Setup button.
  • On the remote control, scroll down to select [Source] setup, then press the OK button.
  • Select a programming mode:
    • If you have the remote that came with the device you are trying to control, scroll to Set up the remote, then press the OK button.
    • If you do not have the remote that came with the device you are trying to control, scroll to Manual remote code entry, then press the OK button. (When prompted, a brand and code must be selected)
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete programming.

One thing to bear in mind while doing this though, is that the signal being sent to the Apple TV does not come from the remote itself, the remote sends a signal to the control console which sends the signal to your other devices from its IR emitters on the left-hand side fo the console.

I hope this helps!
