Purchased Samsung Galaxy S9 and retired the Galaxy S7 Active.

Galaxy S9 connected immediately to the Bose Wave utilizing the SoundTouch app.

Issue not resolved, suspect a os setting conflict with SoundTouch app on the S7 Active.

Thanks, all is well in Whoville 🙂

Re: Wave pairs but app can't find speaker, bluetooth icon does not appear in app

The SoundTouch app does not use the BT connection it uses Wifi.  So you have two ways to connect.

Connect by BT and you can play what's on your phone (stored music/itunes/spotify etc)

Connect via the app and play from sources native to the Soundtouch (like spotify)

For the app to work, you need to connect through the app (not BT).  So go into setup, add or reconnect speaker, put the Wave into setup mode (I think it's a button on the back).

You then minimise the app, find the Waves Wifi network, then reopen the app and follow the rest of the onscreen prompts.

Re: Wave pairs but app can't find speaker, bluetooth icon does not appear in app

Morlock:

Thank you for your timely response, GREATLY APPRECIATED.

SORRY I took so long to respond.

My android is Samsung G891A, software updated.

I CAN connect from android to Wave by BT, then open Pandora and BT music directly from android to Wave WITH volume controls.

I can start android SoundWave app but CANNOT connect to Wave speaker using android WIFI.

The android app cannot find the Wave speaker.

I can open the android Soundwave app and put the Wave speaker in setup mode.

The androd WIFI screen will attempt to connect to

     Bose Wave ST ( F58E12 )

Checking quality of your internet connection

     Internet may not be available

     Bose Wave ST ( F58E12 )

     Network speed 54 Mbps

     Security None

     IP Address 192.0.2.2

     Autoconnect (checked)

Uncheck Autoconnect and network speed droped to 18 Mbps

Tried Alternate method of utilizing http://192.0.2.1

Site could not be reached or moved

Thanks for any further suggestions.

BTW, I do have another Samsung android (see previous post) with SoundWave app that conntects with the speaker and works without any issues.
