It's a vague answer, because atmos encode is belong to Dolby Digital Format
E-AC-3 JOC can be decode by soundbar? my tv is LG, it's made in 2013 , and only support Dolby Digital, but it can decode this one:
Format : E-AC-3 JOC
Format/Info : Enhanced AC-3 with Joint Object Coding Commercial
name : Dolby Digital Plus with Dolby Atmos
The system doesn't decode DD+. It will pull the standard Dolby Digital 5.1 stream from the DD+ audio and play that. Chances are your television is doing the same thing. As well, what device are you playing these movies from? Do you know if the source device is transcoding the audio before sending it to the TV or speaker?
I play move in my pc use potplayer, and set the audio as bit stream , send it to the soundbar , and soundbar decode it then send it to the tv
