bose 700 soundbar data input port use?

I see a port "data" behind the soundbar 700.what is it for? Is that a normal 3.5mm plug input?

Hi yubeie,

 

Thanks for posting. That's a great question! The " data" port is for updates software changes in case you aren't able to update via WIFI. It shouldn't be needed unless directed by one of our service specialists.

Thanks for responding, sorry for the confusion. I was able to find out that both the "Data" and " Service" ports are there for potential service from one of our technicians. They are not something that you would  need to use unless instructed by us.
