Please help! I've connected my echo dot to the aux ports (red/white) on the back of my bose lifestyle 18 (5 speaker) using a 3.5mm stereo jack to two rca cables. The sound is only playing from the rf and rr speakers. It seems the sound is only being received through the red port. If I pull out the red plug there is no sound. If I plug the white plug into the red port I get sound. I know that both plugs are receiving stereo sound from the dot but this is not transferring to the speakers. It is driving me mad! So far I have tried: 1. Reset on the centre unit. 2. Tried stereo headphones in the echo dot aux out. (Working fine) 3. Different cable (same issue) 4. 1st and 3rd generation echo dot. (Same issue) 5. Selecting all numbers of speakers in settings menu. 6. Tried all available ports (tv, dvd etc) same issue. 7. Tried tv sound through optical cable and rca leads. Works perfectly. Any help would be much appreciated as I think I am out of ideas now. Have I missed something obvious??
I'm a complete idiot!! Failed to see the extra port above the red one because of the overhang on the console. Plugged it in and it's working like a dream now!! So sorry for the post. Can't seem to delete it either! Please don't hate me.
