lifestyle 650 using internet radio and tv should be off

Hi,

at the moment I can only listen zu the internetradio and the TV have to be on. It is very stupid to listen to the radio and the TV have to be on. Is there a possibility to use the internetradio or other sources and to switch off the TV?

Yeah this is crazy. I can't believe they haven't fixed this yet.

There should be a way to select the source in setting and adjust if it turns a tv on or off when selected.

soundtouch and Bluetooth should not automatically turn on the TV full stop.

Re: lifestyle 650 using internet radio and tv should be off

Hi Alex650,

Can you adjust the CEC setting on the 650 to "Alternate On" to see if that fixes it for you? Here are the steps:

  1. Turn on the system and press the SETUP button at the bottom of the remote. The Unify menu will appear on the TV screen. If it doesn't, select the TV input the Bose system is connected to.
  2. Select the "CEC Settings" menu option
  3. Press the up or down arrows to highlight a different HDMI CEC setting:
    1. Default On Enables CEC
    2. Alternate On: Prevents unintended source switching and may fix CEC inconsistencies
    3. Off: Disables CEC
  4. Press OK to enable the highlighted HDMI CEC setting
  5. Press EXIT to exit the menu

This is a global setting and will apply to all inputs.

Thanks

Re: lifestyle 650 using internet radio and tv should be off

Hi,

Thanks for your help! Unfortunately, this does not work for me. Do you know if there are any other fixes?

EDIT: after playing around with other options, it seems like adjusting the CEC setting to "off", and manually turning the TV off fixes the problem. I'm not sure how that will affect other settings, but, for now, it works.

I set the CEC Setting to "Off", turned off the TV manually, and it seems to have worked.
