smart portable speaker compatability

Bose product name

Smart Portable home Speaker

Country

Australia

Firmware Version

(1.0.7, 4.8.1, 1.7.0, etc.)

App Version

(4.1.1, 13.0.2, etc.)

What devices were you using that were affected and what version are they on

(Samsung Galaxy S9 on Android 11, iPhone X on iOS14, etc.)

Detailed description of the issue and steps to reproduce

What environment do you experience the issue in?

(noisy office, quiet kitchen, etc.)

When did you start to experience the issue? Did it work correctly previously?

Any troubleshooting steps you took

We currently have a Soundbar 300, Soundtouch 20, and Portable Soundtouch 10 which we connect through the Bose App.  Is the Smart Portable Home Speaker compatible so we can link them all and play them through the bose app?  Or are the existing speakers outdated?

SoundTouch has been discontinued. The Portable Home Speaker uses a different app ecosystem.

You can use SimpleSync to broadcast music from the Portable Home Speaker to compatible SoundTouch systems (using the Portable Speakers Bluetooth, not WiFi). You could then rebroadcast that Bluetooth sound to other SoundTouch systems using the SoundTouch app.

It's not an elegant solution, but I hope that this answer helps with your question 🙂
