A really dumb purchasing question about Lifestyle Systems

Hi, this is going to be either a simple question with a dumb answer, or a dumb question with a simple answer.

I've had so many bose home theatre sets, and the one I have now is a v35. It's time to go.

I came to the Bose website and saw the 650 came out in 2016. I laughed. Seriously I did.

Where do I go to find their latest home theatre sets that are not 5 years old?

and if this is honestly the best there is, does anyone have a clue if something is coming out in 2021?

I'd sooner get a Sonos Arc than something from 2016.

Thanks.

Re: A really dumb purchasing question about Lifestyle Systems

The Smart SoundBar 700, then adding on the premium surround speakers and alsothe Bass Module 700 is the newest Home Theatre system from Bose. Definitely newer than the Lifestyle 650. Bose seems to promote it much more than their Lifestyle systems. I often wonder if the Lifestyle systems are on their way out. They certainly are overdue for some sort of update. :).

In my personal opinion the v35 system sounds better (deeper and more dynamic though less detailed) compared to the 650 or the SoundBar 700 set-up.  Indeed, I have tried them all.

Hope this helps get the conversation started, at least!!!

This gets asked from time to time, so I'll just link to what I said before Christmas on this subject 😉

True they are and they feature eARC connections, so that's a plus. Yet they do not support the same audio formats so you will have to be more careful about how you connect them and your audio settings to ensure you get the best experience. Personally, I do prefer receiver based systems, but eARC is a great alternative.

Well, Bose made the 600 that uses the same speakers as the V35 so you might prefer that system then. Personally, I found the 700 subwoofers to be noticeably more powerful and deeper than the previous version and I do like the Omnijewl cubes in the 650. What's nice is you can connect two is you so wish to get your bass more evenly distributed around the room.

Re: A really dumb purchasing question about Lifestyle Systems

Thanks for sharing this. I really appreciate it!

I didn't consider the soundbar because of all the comments i read of not having a full HDMI in port and it having to  downmix dolby digital and dts if using optical.

Am i the only one that wonders why bose is always seemingly 'behind' ?

kills me!

I fully agree, though if your TV & SoundBar both support eARC that should be less of a concern.

As a well recent show says "This is the Way" since Bose has always worked this way.

It used to allow them to pause and see what's working on the market and what isn't. Nowadays this mentality I think is out of step with customer expectations, but I go over that a bit more in this post
