Audio Problem With LG TV - Cinemate 120

I have a Bose Cinemate 120 connected to the HDMI ARC on my LG UM7300AUE. Audio cuts out intermittently and sometimes it switches back and forth between HDMI ARC and Internal TV Speakers. I've tried this with a couple of HDMI cables. Tv already has newest software

I'm sorry that you are experiencing some audio issues between your LG TV and your CineMate 120 system. 

 

Has this issue always been present or just started to happen recently?

 

Do you see any messages on the control console when this happens? Additionally, does the system seem that it is powered down at the times your audio switches to your TV speakers?

 

Do you have your devices connected to your TV or through the control console?

Hi Charlotte

 

This is a new TV (LG 65UM7300AUE) and has been happening ever since install last week.  

 

No error messages on the console, nor does it power off.  Cinemate is the only device connected to the TV other than a coax cable for antenna.

 

I noticed that this issue only happens when it's on "TV" input.  I was using the "HDMI ARC" input and the sound was perfect coming from the soundbar.

Hello Derekng,

 

Thank you for getting back to me with this information.

 

Before you had this TV, did your previous setup work without any issues? Do you have another TV that you could possibly test your console with?

 

What do you mean by the HDMI ARC input? As there is not an option for this on the remote control.

 

I would first recommend a power reset of the system. This can be done by following these steps:

  1. Turn the system off
  2. Unplug the control center from the power outlet
  3. Unplug the Acoustimass module power cord from the power outlet
  4. Wait 30 seconds
  5. Reconnect the Acoustimass module power cord
  6. Reconnect the control center power cord

 

Also, disconnect your TV from power for 30 seconds and then reconnect. 

 

Additionally, please perform a factory reset on the system. 

Note: This reset erases all settings and returns your product to its default out-of-box state. If a SoundTouch adapter is connected, it must be reset separately.

  1. On the remote control, press the System button
  2. Scroll down to select 16 FACTORY RESET
  3. Press the 5 button to confirm
  4. Press EXIT to exit the menu
