I do have an Acoustimass 10 series IV upgraded with 2 161's to have a 7.1 system that is working fine for some years, it is powered with a TEAC AG-D500 (Similar as Onkyo TX-NR515).
I recently purchased an Onkyo TX-NR696 amp and just mentioned that the amp is oversized as peak power for the 161's is 100W, RMS 30W if I understood correctly the user manual.
The new Onkyo amplifier says it is 175W/channel. This is fine for the Acoustimass 10, but looks too high for the small 161. Is there a way protecting the 161's to avoid any damage ?
