Hello userqwer,

Thanks for getting back in touch.

If you have checked the full back panel of the television, as advised, it may mean the television is shielded. Please understand this peripheral was designed and sold a long time ago, so newer tech may be incompatible. If you cannot find a suitable spot, please just use the remote to power the tv on.

Kind regards,

Re: Bose AV48 LG TV to turn on automatically ?

Hello Userqwer,

Thanks for reaching out.

To use the TV sensor, we would recommend that you follow these steps:

  1. Connect the TV sensor to the TV Sensor jack on the media center connection panel. (On the panel, the TV Sensor jack is immediately above two other jacks of the same type: the IR Emitter, and Serial Data jacks).
  2. Turn the TV on and select the correct input.
  3. Press the System button on the remote.
  4. Press the right arrow until the Video icon is selected, and press Enter.
  5. Press the down arrow until "TV Power Status" is selected.
  6. Move the flat side of the TV sensor slowly around the back of the TV until TV Power Status indicates: "TV On".
  7. Attach the TV sensor to this location with the adhesive strip provided.
  8. Press the up arrow until "TV Power" is selected, and press Enter.
  9. Press the down arrow until "Automatic" is selected, and press Enter.
  10. Press the Exit button to leave the System menu.

It is also worth noting that an "OFF" command will only be sent to the TV if the Bose system automatically turned on the TV and detects that the TV is, in fact, on. If the TV is turned on manually or the Bose system cannot detect that the TV is on, it will not send an "OFF" command.

If you have been following these steps and something has been going wrong please let me know at which point it is not working. If not please try these steps and let me know how you get on.

I look forward to your response.

Kind Regards,

Re: Bose AV48 LG TV to turn on automatically ?

Hello userqwer,

Thanks for getting back in touch.

With regards to locating the key position:

Move the sensor around to the back of the TV until TV Power Status displays "TV On." It may be helpful to have another person watch the TV while you move the sensor

- On a projection TV, start at the bottom back of the set close to the power cable connection.

- On a CRT (picture tube TV), start at the vents on the top of the set.

- On plasma or LCD televisions, start anywhere near the power cable connection.

When TV power displays "TV on," the sensor is in the correct position. Use the mounting strip provided to secure the sensor at that location.

(Note: if you cannot find a spot that causes the menu to change to "TV on," it may mean your TV is shielded. In that case, use your Lifestyle® remote and press TV ON/OFF to turn your TV on and off.)

Kind regards,

Jeff G
