Bose Cinemate 2.1 satellite speaker cable extension with "Serial cable"

Hi all,

I'm just buying used Bose Cinemate 2.1 system to my new play room. I want to locate the satellite speakers near to the screen and the booster-unit behind my couch near to video projekctor. I think the length of the speakers will be an issue with this setup.

My question is: Can the cables be extended with regular 9-pin Serial Cable which has male and female ends? Does this kind of extension cable cause problems? Am I total fool to just thinking something like this (I don't understand why Bose sells extension cables for speakers if you can just use regular Serial cable between booster-unit and old cabling).

I'm thankful for any comments 🙂

Can you tell me what you mean by booster- unit?

I look forward to hearing from you!
