Bose Soundbar 700 universal remote not connecting with LG Smart TV

Good Morning,

After spending roughly 5 hours last night trying to figure out how to pair the two together, I figured someone may have had the same issue. The soundbar does in fact work, but cannot connect to either the TV nor my Roku device. Both instances, I went to pair the device, I turn the tv on and set it to the appropriate "input"...the app goes through a sequence of codes trying to turn off the tv...at the end, the app will have me manually input my model number and it will "connect" however the remote still has no control over my tv. I've tried practically everything but still no luck. I've read about issues similar to mine but no defined answer. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks

Hi BARTOSZ walczak,

Thanks for posting!

It sounds like the TV may not be getting the IR signal from the front of the soundbar.  Does the remote control any other source devices when it's programmed?  You may need to reach out to support for an IR emitter.  Just click HERE and select your country and Contact Us at the bottom.

Warm Regards,

Tony A

Hello akkveto09,

Thank you for posting and welcome to the community.

I'm sorry to see you're having issues programming your TV and Roku device.

To investigate this further for you can you provide me the model number of your TV and Roku?

Kind Regards,

Joel - Community Support

Re: Bose Soundbar 700 universal remote not connecting with LG Smart TV

Hi Jasesutton,

Thanks for your post and welcome to the community.

The Soundbar 700 sends out the IR signal from the soundbar itself and not the Bose remote meaning that if you have a lack of reflective surfaces between your Soundbar and your TV it won't receive the signal from the Soundbar to the TV.

The IR Emitter will connect to the rear of the Soundbar via the IR port. You will need to reach out to customer support to get one of these.

Kind Regards,

Hector B
