Hex Codes for AV35 SoundTouch systems

Hello,

I have a LS535 II with the SoundTouch series II wireless adapter connected to it that adds both SoundTouch and Bluetooth.

I purchased a Logitech Harmony Elite to control everything as I have multiple HDMI switches. It works wonderfully, yet I found out it does not control two aspects of the system, SoundTouch & Bluetooth.

I found out the reason why. This is HEX code Bose has supplied to other companies to control all AV35 receivers found in Lifestyle systems made from 2010 - 2016.

Early systems like the Lifestyle V35 (made between 2010-2013) included Boselink for multi-room audio expansion. The HEX code is designed with these specific systems in mind. So, along with giving you the ability to control every aspect of the AV35, it includes this part in the HEX code:

Network 1 (Join Bose link Stream 1)
0000 006b 0022 0000 0157 00ac 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 00ac

Network 2 (Join Bose link Stream 2)
0000 006b 0022 0000 0157 00ac 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 00ac

AV35 consoles made from late 2013-2016 do not include multi-room Boselink, but were redesigned to power and control the SoundTouch wireless adapter. This means that those two codes do not match up to, or allow you to select, the SoundTouch or Bluetooth inputs on the system.

I was wondering if you have an Updated HEX code that you could supply for the SoundTouch version of the AV35 receiver?

If you do this, it will allow other controllers to go directly to the SoundTouch & Bluetooth input as easily as you currently can for Front HDMI, HDMI 1, FM, etc. Unless I am mistaken I do not believe that the "Teach" mode in the Unify setup can do this.

I do hope you can help.

Thanks

Hi NeonsNight,

We've had some confirmation on this for you. As the console did initially use BoseLink for multiroom connections and was converted to support SoundTouch, it does not see SoundTouch and Bluetooth as sources in the same way it does devices that are connected via HDMI inputs. As such, there isn't any individual Hex code for SoundTouch or Bluetooth available.

One thing that would definitely be worth trying is the Source Cycle command. With each press, you scroll through each of the connected sources. This may allow you to scroll to SoundTouch or Bluetooth, but is not something that will definitely work.

The document you linked to on Dropbox does appear to be the full list of Hex codes available for this console, I have been supplied a list that I have attached as well, in case there are any differences to the codes you have.

I hope this information helps.

Thank you for the clear answer. I assume this is because the SoundTouch adapter is not an internal source unlike what BoseLink was. I also assume that since this is a discontinued system this will not, or cannot, be fixed with a future software update.

Yes, I had considered the "Source cycle" command, but it would have been a lot more efficient if there was a single command to directly select the desired source.

Re: Hex Codes for AV35 SoundTouch systems

Hello,

I have a AV35 Console and a Harmony Elite remote. When I select Input 1, Input 2 or Input 3 nothing happens (source remains the same). In fact, only FM input works. How did you succeed to manage this?

HDMI 1, HDMI 2 and HDMI 3 are not listed on the device inputs.

Best regards,

Michel
